MCCUSKER, Frederick A. April 14, 1931-June 28, 2017 Peacefully, with family by his side, Fred’s struggle has ended. Dear husband for 63 years to Lydia (Kuchma). Cherished father of Lynda Hixson (Tom) and Susan. Adored Papa of Sarah Vass (Darren), William, Zachary and Elysse (Andy). Great-grandpa to Samuel Vass. Adored playmate to Molly. Predeceased by his parents Thomas, Eva (Harnish), his brothers William, Thomas, sister Edna (Yorston), brother James, twin brother Edward, niece Mary and nephews James and Charles. Survived by his dear niece Debbie Sheasby (Randy), nephew Anthony McCusker and many other loved extended family, friends and neighbours. Fred will be remembered for his larger than life happy personality, his sense of humour, his work ethic (Borden’s Dairy, Canada Post), jack-of-all trades, talented sportsman (Baseball-Triple A Hamilton, Golf-Chedoke Bandits and Chippawa Creek-7 holes in one and 2 City Championships), his love of dogs, parades, music, old Westerns, but especially his Family. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will follow. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at Emmanuel United Church, 871 Upper Ottawa Street, Hamilton. Lunch to follow.
