FREDERICKJOHN BENTLEY

FREDERICK JOHN BENTLEY With great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Frederick John Bentley, on Friday, February 3, 2017 in his 85th year. Besieged by Alzheimer’s on earth, Fred’s spirit is now free and he is once again strong, thoughtful and in the arms of his beloved wife Ruth, who he lost 5 years ago. Survived by his devoted daughters, Dr. Lisa Bentley and Julie Bentley-McLoughlin, two of the luckiest girls alive to have had Fred as their Dad. Dutiful son, loyal brother, hardworking Retired Employee of Go Transit, Cadillac aficionado, saviour to injured and abused animals, and a fiercely dedicated family man – this is the sum of a good man’s life. To all of Fred’s caregivers: the staff at Deerwood Creek Care Community, Sandra and Christina, husbands of Lisa (Anthony) and Julie (Dave), the prayers of many family and friends and the Emergency Staff at Etobicoke General Hospital in his final moments – thank you for seeing Fred through his struggles – he was a man worthy of your kindness. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday, February 10th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lynett Funeral Home (3299 Dundas St. W., 1 block east of Runnymede Rd.). A service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. Private family only burial at Parklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Toronto Humane Society or your local animal shelter.
