FISHER, George It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Fisher, 87, of Oakville, Ontario. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. George was born on January 23, 1930 in London, Ontario to Kenneth and Celia Fisher. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy. They were married in 1951 and had 66 happy years together. He is also the proud father of four children Deborah, Jeff, Pamela and Cyndi. Cherished Grandfather of eight grandchildren Amanda (Sean), Ryan, Corey, Alycia, Leah, Angelo, Nicholas and Kiera. He also leaves behind his one special great-grandson Ethan. He is also survived by his sisters Patricia (Michael) King, Margaret (William 2002) Coughtrey and predeceased by his sister Marilyn Wilson (1989). George will be missed by his nieces, nephews extended family, friends and neighbours. George worked at PPG Industries for 47 years before he retired as Director of Auto Glass Sales at age 65. He also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his grass and gardens surrounding his home. He also loved golf and the Toronto Blue Jays are losing a fan. Visitation will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville (at Dundas St.) 905-257-8822 from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 and 12-1 p.m on Sunday, September 24th. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Glen Oaks Cemetery. We would like to give a special thank you to all of the Doctors and Nurses in the ICU unit at Oakville Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
