RENNIE, Gertrude (Aunt Gerty) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say farewell to Aunt Gerty, our special “Angel”. Aunt Gerty slipped away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 with family by her side, after her courageous battle, in her 87th year. Aunt Gerty was a strong teacher in our family and will be greatly missed by her survived sons, Livingston Walker (Sharon) and Ezekiel (Rastafari Son Of Davids). She is survived by one brother, two sisters, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her church brothers and sisters. She will be deeply missed by all her extended family and friends. Gertrude was born in Jamaica on September 2, 1930 and is predeceased by her parents Luaska and William Rennie. Gertude is a retired former staff member at Chedoke Hospital. Aunt Gerty enjoyed her fellowship with her brothers and sisters at Hamilton Mountain Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking and was a devoted Christian. She was a powerful woman of God and would preach the word of the Lord in all her journeys. Her strength and positive outlook on life helped carry her through. The family would like to thank Dr. Shadd ,Dr. Hattersley and the staff at 3 West St. Peter’s for all their support and warm compassionate care. The family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME at 322 Fennell Ave East on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of life for Gertrude will be held at Hamilton Mountain Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 284 Concession Street, Hamilton on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Mt.
