Harvey Garbé JOHNSON

April 12, 1934 – March 25, 2017

At Southlake Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Son of the late Cyril Herbert Johnson and Florence (GarbĂ©) Johnson. Loving father of Lynda Gail (Stephen Jaworski), Sandra Carol (Steven Turcotte) and Mark Andrew Johnson. Will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Lorrie Lynn (Rich Simpson), Christine Gail Redl, Michael, Graham and Matthew Colvin and great-grandson, Everett Douglas Simpson. Remembered by many friends. After attending the University of Pennsylvania, Harvey Johnson with his father Cyril Johnson and John Hogan formed Johnson and Hogan Construction. Later Johnson Road Builders was formed continuing with the building of roads and sidewalks. Following Johnson Road Builders, Johnson Recycling was formed. This was the first of recycling roads in Canada and building of asphalt recycling machines. Along with recycling of roads the company was one of the first with road grinding machines in Canada. Leading in technology, Harvey was a pioneer. He was definitely ahead of his time. Visitation and celebration of Harvey’s life to be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, April 12, 2017.
