Helen PAWLAK

(Born in Wroxton, Saskatchewan.) Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in her 95th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Walter (Bill). Beloved mother of Martin, Lois (Jacques Dupont), Carol Doughty (Bruce), David (Patricia), Barbara Ellstrom (John), Judith McCaustlin (Jim), Susan Haslan (Michael) and predeceased by Patti France and Andy. Survived by her brothers Steve and Jimmy Starchuk and predeceased by her sisters Wilma Wegrynowski, Christina Starchuk, Kai Marshall and brothers Billy and John Starchuk. Helen was a proud Ukrainian-Canadian and a caring mother, grandmother, great “gramma”, avid gardener, horse racing enthusiast, top-notch bowler, euchre and cribbage player. Helen was also a dedicated, longtime volunteer at Queensway Hospital. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W., Toronto, at 14th St., 416-259-3705, Sunday 6-9 p.m. A private family interment will follow.
