Helen Merle WEDGE

(nee BECKETT)

We celebrate the life of Helen Merle Wedge, born January 28, 1929, in Toronto, who passed away December 27, 2016 in the 88th year of her rich and full life. Devoted wife of Basil William Lomas Wedge (deceased March 22, 2015) for almost 65 years of close companionship. Survived by her two sons and their spouses Grant (Bob) and Lorne (Martha), who are so grateful for her challenging them and keeping them true to themselves. Loving grandmother of Emma, Kyle, Jillian, Taylor and Carly who thank her for all the trips in the camper, seeing Disney and being generous but teaching them of the value of things too. Helen was a graduate of Runnymede Collegiate (’47) and Victoria College, U of T (’50), and worked briefly as an editor at Gage Publishing. In 1957 she moved to St. Catharines which became home for the next 60 years. An avid bridge player and curler with a quick wit and who was the “life of the party”, she will be missed by all those she touched in her long life. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heidehof Nursing Home, 600 Lake Street, St. Catharines, who have done so much to make Helen comfortable over the last three years. Private arrangements to be made for interment. Please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Helen. May she rest in pea
