James McLean HOOD
HOOD, James McLean “Jimmy” It is with sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of James McLean on June 13, 2016 at the Hamilton General Hospital with his family by his side. Jimmy wasn’t well for some time. Jimmy was born in Hamilton, ON. He was the beloved youngest child of Helen and James Hood (predeceased), his eldest brother William (predeceased). Fondly remembered by his brother Brian (Carollynne), sister Christine Soomet, brother-in-law Urmas Soomet. Jimmy was the proud uncle to Trevor (Aunic), Matthew, Stuart (Nicole), Adrienne (Craig), Andrew (Katie), Karin (Doug) and their children Jack and Ben, Lindsay (Chris) and their children Ella and Wyatt. Jimmy will be missed by his good friend Lorne Helmer who was always there, especially when Jimmy needed him the most. Jimmy was always excited for the next family gathering asking well ahead of the event who was hosting. He loved shopping for the younger ones at Christmas well ahead of the Holiday wanting to be sure they would each have a special gift. Jimmy loved life, he was fiercely independent, a free spirit, generous in nature, he knew many people in Hamilton as was his friendly demeanour. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, July 15th at 4 p.m. at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, King Street East at Wellington. If desired, donations may be made to Brain Injury Services or the Eva Rothwell Resource Centre at Robert Land, otherwise a random act of kindness to honour Jimmy’s memory.
