MARCELLA, Italo (1946-2017) It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Italo on August 12, 2017, at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Elsa for almost 50 years. Loving father of three daughters – Fiorella and Dominic D’Angelo, Gabriella and Frank Pileggi and Tania and Ed Munisteri. Proud and cherished Nonno of Nicolas, Serena, Anthony, Luca, Stefano, Leo and Marco. Pre- deceased by his parents Fiorindo and Cesira and in-laws Gaetano and Maldina. Italo will be missed by his sister in Italy – Teresa and Gabriele, and his brothers Alberto and Gabriella, Evandro and Anita, Remo and Cinzia and brother-in-law Armando and Elisabetta, as well as by many relatives and friends in Canada, Italy and the U.S. Italo and Elsa came to Canada in 1968, welcomed by their aunt Grace and uncle Vince. He will be fondly remembered as an avid gardener who enjoyed delivering and sharing his home-grown fruits and vegetables to family and friends. He was known as a gentle and funny man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and always giving extra special time to Stefano, whom he called “lu citolo mi”. Markey Chapel” , 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Wednesday, August 16 from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday, August 17 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. Vigil prayers on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18 at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Catholic Church (400 Pottruff Road North, Hamilton). Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations to the McMaster Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
