McDONALD, James With great sadness we announce that, following a brief illness, James McDonald Sr. passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on April 20, 2017 in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Isobel for 55 years. Loving father of Kim (Brian), and Jim (Sharlene). Cherished “Muka” of Olivia and “Gramps” of Chelsea, Alyssa, Alex, Jordan, and Jasper. Loving brother of Helen (Paul) and brother-in-law of Margaret. Dear uncle of David, Stephen, Jim, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Andrew, and Stuart. He will be deeply missed by his many friends. James was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Lizzie and his brother Stephen. He was a proud member of the Ibrox Exiles, the East Hamilton Soccer Club as well as the Battlefield Masonic Lodge. He was a true RFC supporter. We were very fortunate to learn many life lessons from his example, James believed in always taking the high road, that we only have each other and to never forget where you came from. His strong accent always declared his beloved roots as proof of that. He was an active man who loved life, was always happy in the company of family and friends, even his four legged ones. He was young at heart and will always remain in ours. As per James’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. www.dermodys.com
