JEAN KATHERINE METCALFE November 12, 1924 to April 22, 2017 WWII Veteran Passed away peacefully at home. Survived by loving husband Keith and daughters Janice (Tom) Witty, Nancy (Bill) Gregor and Maureen (Andres) Metcalfe-Tamm, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Rachael Scott, Albert E. (Kathleen) Scott; Beryl O’Flaherty Albert J. (Doris) Scott. Born in Parry Sound, Jean lived in Markdale through her teens. Jean joined the RCAF in 1943, met and married Keith in 1948 and lived in Willowdale until their retirement to Torrance in the mid ’80s. Jean was a 25-year North York Board of Education employee. Jean’s physical presence has been taken away from us far too soon, but her spirit will always remain close to our hearts. Because of her, we know what courage, strength and unconditional love is all about. Jean’s parting comments: “a life well lived with no regrets”! Jean’s family is grateful for the care provided by Dr. D. Bushey, Amica at Barrie nurses and staff and CCAC. Special thanks to family and friends who held us up with their prayers and support. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Bala Branch 424, 1011 Maple Street, Bala, Ontario.
