PALLETT, Jeanne Maxine Having lived a wonderful life, it is with mixed emotions that we announce she made her exit, as was her wish, from this world on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Trillium Health Centre – Mississauga site just short of her 100th birthday. Survived by her daughter Sandra Lynn Jenkins and her husband Bill, son William John Pallett and his partner Charlie (Corrado), granddaughter Kimberly of New Orleans, grandson Cameron and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers John and Bill Mutter and sister Helen Eaton (nee Mutter). Jeanne was a native of Brandon, Manitoba and daughter of Helen and John Mutter who homesteaded Brandon establishing one of the small city’s original grocery stores which today is now in the Daly Museum and designated as a historic site by the province of Manitoba. One of the few women of the time, Jeanne graduated in the 1930s from Brandon College, now Brandon University, with her degree. On the advice of her brother John she moved to Toronto to seek a career in business having worked with Halifax Insurance and United Cigar Stores and enjoying Friday evening on the Park Plaza’s Rooftop Lounge with friends. Always a social being Jeanne met her husband Ken on a blind date in Port Credit, Ontario and soon became his partner and wife in life moving to Dixie, now considered a part of Mississauga. She became active in the small apple farming community and participated in the Dixie Curling Club, St. John’s Anglican Church, South Peel Hospital (now the Trillium Health Centre) and later in life the Brampton Golf & Country Club. Jeanne and Ken travelled extensively enjoying many winters in Jamaica, Barbados, Hawaii, Florida and as a widow Palm Springs, California. She will be forever remembered true to her favourite song “Unforgettable”. The family wishes to thank the wonderful team at AMICA City Centre in Mississauga, Jeanne’s home for the last several years and the team at the Trillium Health Centre.
