MATSUI, John Yoshinori —
John ‘Jack’ Matsui died peacefully Friday, December 30, 2016 at son Bill’s home after a wonderful Christmas with family. Born in Vancouver, BC, July 11, 1920, he was eldest of Yoshitaro and Misato (Shinto) Matsui’s 11 children. Jack will be missed by his beloved wife Mary (Yano), who he met while in Tashme, BC, 1942-1946, and by children Jacqueline (Don Davies), Ellen, John (Judy Harrigan), Bill and Susan Slupik, grandchildren Scott (Rosa), Will (Karen), Danny (Meaghan), Vanessa (Kourosh), Melissa (Nick), Mary Ellen and Jacqueline and 7 great-grandchildren. Jack and Mary lived in Toronto, Huntsville and most recently Mississauga. Friends are invited to the Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga: Visitation, Wednesday, January 4th, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; a celebration of Jack’s life, Thursday, January 5th at 11 a.m. Please direct gifts to Huntsville Hospital Foundation or Trillium Health.
