JOHN RICHARD MacNEIL It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear son, brother and Uncle John Richard (Rick) MacNeil. Born on February 2, 1962 in Toronto, Rick passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Markham Stouffville Hospital surrounded by family. Rick graduated from Prince Andrew High School in Dartmouth and later attended Dartmouth Vocation School where he took Architectural Technologist and went on to design many houses in Atlantic Canada and Toronto. He had a passion for designing houses and working on heritage projects. He was the keeper of our family history tracing it back to the 1500s. Rick was the son of Marcie and Evelyn MacNeil of Richmond Hill and brother to Karen McCaig (Mike) of Saint John, NB and Scott MacNeil (Audrey) of Uxbridge, ON. He was uncle to MacKenzie, Chelsea, Victoria and Ryan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Cancer Society , or to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Rd. E. (west of Bayview Ave.), from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11th.
