DE-FOA, Joseph Gloude It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Joseph G. De-Foa (Joey/Joe), who has gone home to be with the Lord. Loving husband of Joan De-Foa, nee Wright, for 64 years. He will be forever remembered and cherished by his children Jeffrey (Lynne), Linda (Julian), Sandra (Rob) and Denise (Michael). Proud grandfather of Jessica, Mitchell, Christopher, Natalie, Kyle, Austin, Darren, Neil, Daniele and Nicole (Ariel). Proud great-grandfather of Stephen, Sadie, Manny and Sebastian. Joe worked as a Foreman for 39 years at Canadian Rogers Eastern Ltd., working with stainless steel. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a man of strong conviction with a quiet confidence. He always saw the good in people. He could fix anything. Joseph was an avid sailor and racer in his day, sailing out of the Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club. He built two sailboats, the Moth and the National. Joe loved golfing, the Toronto Maple Leafs, playing his guitar and woodworking. Visitation will take place at McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, on Tuesday, October 3rd from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 4th at ST. ISAAC JOGUES CHURCH, 1148 Finch Avenue, Pickering, at 11 a.m. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, volunteers and everyone else at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket.
