SHAW, Joyce Phillis (nee Pinder) Passed away on Sunday, September 17th in her 92nd year, quietly and peacefully, a fighter to the end. Wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, fierce defender of all in her care and friend to many; her legacy to us all was unconditional caring and support. Born and raised in several small towns including Mount Forest, Palgrave and Woodbridge before marriage and settling in Thistletown. She treasured and devoted her life to her three boys – don’t mess with the boys! She also found time to contribute to the family butcher shop and raise little Willie dogs and bake too many good things. Predeceased by her husband Bill and son Wayne, as well as her siblings Doe Doe, Irlma, Shirley, Will, Vernon and Jack. Joyce lived a rich and long life and will be sadly missed by sons Charlie and Kirby, grandchildren Daniel, Ryan, Wes, Caitlin and Andrew and great-grandchildren Keaton and Bodhi. Joyce will be laid to rest with her late husband Bill at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Humber Summit where a private family Celebration of Life will take place in the coming weeks.
