PHELAN, Judith Ann —

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Judith Ann Phelan, on July 18, 2016 in Toronto. Born on August 22, 1944 in Harrogate, England to Alice and George Ridley. She moved to Toronto in 1969 with her husband, Jim, where she lived for the rest of her life happily raising her sons and forging her careers as an artist and art teacher. She loved to travel and passed on her attachment to Italy to the rest of her family. Loving mother of Dan (Ivka) and Ben (Lynn) and grandmother of Maja, Ema, Oisin, Quinn and Sloan, she had many more trips to make and art to create, but sadly it was not to be. Diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on May 28th, she inspired all of us with her determination and courage in the face of this inevitable disease. Mum, we will love you always. You lived a wonderfully enriching life.

Friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 12 noon, with a service to follow at 1 p.m. in the Coach House Chapel of Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne St., Toronto (south of Wellesley).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are gratefully appreciated. f
