JuneMACKIE

MACKIE, June July 8, 1925 – June 29, 2017 With her loving daughter Mary-Lou, son-in-law Ted, and grandson Brennan by her side, June passed away comfortably and peacefully just short of her 92nd birthday. June is now reunited with her beloved husband Fred (2000). Described by her friends as distinguished, classy and dignified, June had an incredible zest for life and an indomitable spirit. Living independently until 2 weeks prior to her passing, June was an active participant at Stoney Creek’s Club 60, the Legion, New Horizons Seniors Club, and Rosedale Seniors. In the last months of her life, she was assisted by and is eternally grateful to the wonderful support she received from Bayshore home care, DARTS, the incredible nurses at VON, and, in particular, the compassionate support of Regan, her Physiotherapist. June and her family are indebted to the staff of the Hamilton General Hospital for making her last days comfortable and restful. June took great pride in the accomplishments of her family, in particular her grandson, Brennan. She had wonderful personal style and fashion sense, always impeccably dressed and coiffed. Throughout her life, her resilience and positive outlook prevailed and inspired those around her. She was a most remarkable person who was admired by her many friends and family members. All who knew her will sadly miss her. Respecting June’s wishes to exit gently and humbly from this earth, her immediate family will celebrate her life at a private gathering. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice can be made in June’s honour. Butterflies are free to fly…
