Karinde Man

KARIN DE MAN (formerly KARIN KORBEE, née CATHARINA STOUTE) Died unexpectedly but peacefully at home on February 7, 2017. She was 84. Karin was born in Sassenheim, Holland, in 1933. She immigrated to Canada on the SS Groote Beer in 1955. Karin married architect Jack Korbee and settled in Don Mills, where she raised her family and had an active and happy life. In 2002, Karin married credit union executive Dick de Man, living in Willowdale at first, but then retiring to Holland Christian Homes in Brampton. Karin and Dick enjoyed their life together for 15 happy years, spending time with family, travelling the world and participating in Toronto’s Dutch-Canadian community. Karin leaves behind her sister Ingrid Helmus (Hans), her children Greg Korbee (Roelof Coertze) and Hedy Korbee (Bob Weiers), Brenda Korbee (wife of Karin’s son, Leon Korbee), her grandchildren Garrett Magee, Spencer Magee, Hannah Korbee and Lanny Korbee, her niece Miriam Baart (Steven), her nephew Nico Helmus (Maaike), her step-children Perry de Man (Barbara McCully), Paul de Man (Heather Okrafka) and Audrey de Koning (Mark) and her step- grandchildren Margot de Man, Brigitte de Man, Samantha Marasco de Man, Kate de Koning and Pim de Koning. Karin, Mom, Zus, Oma, Tante Karin – we will miss you. Al gaat mijn weg door een donker dal, ik vrees geen gevaar, want u bent bij mij, uw stok en uw staf, zij geven mij moed. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 13 at 2 p.m. at Heritage Hall in Covenant Tower, Holland Christian Homes, 7900 McLaughlin Road South, Brampton. The service will be followed by a reception and visitation at 3 p.m.
