KATHLEENHALL (KAY) RAWLINGS

KATHLEEN (KAY) HALL (nee RAWLINGS) Peacefully at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo, on April 17, 2017 in her 92nd year. Reunited with her loving husband Arthur (2001). Mother of Brian (Loretta predeceased), Sarnia; Leigh (Lyn), Simcoe; Cheryl, Guelph; and Craig (Jodi), Kitchener. Nana to Stephanie, Jeremy, Kristopher, Michelle, James, Zachary, Kyle and Matthew. Great-nana to John, Ryan, Avril, Tyler, Katie and Ben. Survived by sister Helen Cull of Toronto. Predeceased by parents, sister Betty and brother Herbert. Kay was a veteran of WWII, serving in the CWAC (Canadian Women’s Army Corps) and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 532, New Hamburg. Kay felt strongly that the women’s basic training barracks be remembered and was instrumental in the raising of the statue that now stands in front of the armoury on East Ave. Many thanks to all the staff at Parkwood Mennonite Home for their care and kindness. Visitation at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, New Hamburg, on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Margaret Walker officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 532, Cystic Fibrosis or Sleeping Children Around the World.
