BARR, Leona 1926 – 2017 With great sadness the family announces the passing of Leona Ellen Barr (nee Stewart) on August 8, 2017, in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband, of over 71 years, Albert (Pete). She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Bill) and son Michael (Lois). Loving Grandma to David, Melissa (Mauro), Matthew (Atoosa), Charlette (Gianluca) and Christian (predeceased). Cherished Nana to Nicole, Laura, Jordan, Malina, Brandan, Sofia, Shailene (Ryan) and Jeremy. Proud Nanny to Keira and Melody. Predeceased by her brothers Archie (Winnie) and Jimmy (Vivian). She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends as well as her special friends and staff at Beechwood Retirement. A special thanks to Dr. Gordon Preston for his wonderful care over the years, and her caregiver, Indra Singh who provided the best in loving care over her last few weeks. Family and friends will be received for a Celebration of Life at the Ridley Funeral Home 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. (at 14th St. between Islington and Kipling Aves, 416-259-3705) on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
