BURK, Lisa Jean (nee Edelist) Born July 19, 1963 in San Francisco, California passed away suddenly in Newmarket, Ontario on September 18, 2017 in her 54th year. Cherished and lovingly remembered by her children Carly, Shayna, Camryn (Kinahan) and Griffin (Kinahan) who were her ultimate pride and joy. Very much loved daughter of Gerald and Faye Edelist (predeceased), twin sister and best friend Laurie (Mike) Lamont, older sister Karen Edelist and niece and nephew Nicki (Andy) Lamont-Cholfe and Jamie (Genevieve) Lamont. Lisa did not want a “service” but a Celebration of her life will be held at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket, Ontario on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and continuing at 496 Dover Crescent, Newmarket, Ontario and all family and friends are welcome. Thereafter, her family will honour Lisa’s wishes and take her on a trip to her beloved Heavenly Valley Ski Resort in California where she will make one final run down the Gun Barrel Black Diamond Mogul Slope and have her ashes scattered across the terrain. “God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered come to me. With tearful eyes we watched and saw you pass away and although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, working hard hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us that he only takes the best.” In lieu of flowers and/or charitable donations; in Lisa’s memory: Every day, go to a loved one, HUG THEM AND TELL THEM THAT YOU LOVE THEM.
