CAMERON, Lorna June 30, 1956 – June 14, 2017 On June 14, 2017, Lorna Cameron, 60, passed away on Salt Spring Island, BC, after a long, courageous struggle with Huntington’s disease. Lorna grew up in the Beach, the 4th in a family of 6 and the first of the Cameron clan born in Canada. She was predeceased by her sister Heather, who also succumbed to the disease and will be missed by her brothers Jim (Sharon Cameron), Ross, Bruce (Susan Lundy) and Craig (Sandra Odendahl), her nieces and nephews Kim, Tara, Becky, Marnie, Cameron, Dylan, Jade, Owen and Maya, her beloved dog Sable and her many friends in Toronto and British Columbia. Lorna graduated from Monarch Park High School in 1975 and worked for Parks and Recreation for many years, tended bar at the Balmy Beach Club and Buster’s and taught ESL. Lorna’s boundless energy, adventurous spirit and mischievous sense of humour were a rock of support for all who knew her. She laughed, loved and danced with gusto. A celebration of Lorna’s life will be held on Sunday, July 16th from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Join us to share stories, laugh and raise a glass in her honour!
