LOUISCOOPER

LOUIS COOPER February 1, 1929 – August 28, 2016 Lou died peacefully after a long, interesting life rich with all he could have asked for, filled with family and friends, music, travel, dancing, a love of books and an insatiable quest for knowledge. Lou leaves Barbara, his beloved wife of 62 years, and his much loved children – daughter Tracy, son Todd Steven and son-in-law John Friedrichsen. His three cherished grandchildren – Adam, Dana and Hailey Friedrichsen enjoyed Lou’s infinite knowledge, great sense of humour and entertaining magic tricks. Bev Turney was a particularly close family friend for more than 60 years and held an especially close place in Lou’s heart. Lou arrived with Barbara in Canada in October 1954, saying farewell to his parents Cecil and Mabel Cooper, having spent his first 25 years of life in Yorkshire, England. His early love of music lead to a wonderful and fruitful entrepreneurial venture in the music business for almost 30 years, while providing an opportunity to meet many like-minded people who shared his love of jazz. A celebration of Lou’s life will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at MOUNT PLEASANT FUNERAL CENTRE (375 Mount Pleasant Road – Toronto – enter through the east gate). Friends and guests will be received after 10:30 a.m. Following the Celebration of Life, please join the family for refreshments and reminiscing. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
