LuigiDE ROSE

DE ROSE, Luigi On September 30, 2017 I lost the love of my life of 52 years. We celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 6, 2017. Together we travelled to 3 continents and over 50 countries. We loved to dance and celebrate life. Luigi was an avid gardener and reader with a passion for hunting and fishing, especially with his son, brothers and paesani. He was the most amazing father and Nonno Gigi. He leaves behind his son Luigi Mark (Yuki Aomi) and his daughter Julia (Evangelos Nastou). Luigi adored his grandchildren, Katie, Sophie, Hendrix, Orion and Artemis. Luigi leaves his siblings Francesco (Cettina), Rosa (Antonio Vigna), Maria (Antonio Borrelli), Joseph, Rita, his deceased brother Alfredo and 21 nieces and nephews. Luigi was born August 21, 1943 in Aprigliano Corte, Italy. He immigrated in 1961 and promptly established a successful career as a hairstylist. His first shop opened in 1978 on Marlee Ave., Toronto and he was renowned for maintaining a loyal clientele for over 30 years spanning generations of families. He battled lymphoma for 10 months. It is heartbreaking to say goodbye to the love of my life. Rest in peace my darling. We will meet again in heaven one day. The Lord has welcomed you home. Deep, heartfelt gratitude is extended to Dr. S. Marcus, Dr. N. Noroozi, Dr. M. Doherty and the incredible nurses on the 4th floor for their care and support. Family and friends will be received at the HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME, 3280 Sheppard Avenue East (west of Warden), 416-773-0933, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Epiphany of our Lord Church, 3200 Pharmacy Avenue, on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Christ the King Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation – Odette Cancer Centre or The Scarborough Hospital Foundation Oncology Department.
