LANE, Madge Beverley – 1922 – 2016 Passed away peacefully October 23rd at Extendicare Guildwood at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband, Ken Lane (2010). The only child of Owen and Mary Louise (Minnie) Wilson, Madge raised four successful daughters: Christine Klassen (Ray), Laurel Lane-Moore (John), Robin Maginniss (Lew) and Lisa Lane (Brian). Grandmother of Jordan (Tora), Lorien (Brock), Nathan, Joshua (Jen), Joel (Danielle), Dana (Marie-Eve), Janine, Adam, Megan (Nik), Emily, Matthew and Patrick. Great-grandmother of Jade, Jack, Jace, Peyton, Lucas, Nolan, Adele and Eli. Madge met Ken on a blind date and decided to pass, thinking he was arrogant, until she saw him on the dance floor and was impressed with his moves! The result was an active social life with her partner of 60 years and her own triumphs as a competitive curler, bowler, golfer and bridge player. Madge also had a creative side, expressed through painting, woodcarving, knitting and crocheting. Many thanks to the staff of Extendicare Guildwood for their compassionate care. A service and reception will be held Sunday, October 30th at 11 a.m. at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, Scarborough Chapel, 2900 Kingston Road, just east of St. Clair Avenue East. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Hospital for Sick Children.
