MARGOT CROSSGROVE FELL With family at her side, on May 11, 2017, in her 87th year, after a short unexpected illness. Only child of Robert Faulds Crossgrove and Muriel Dryden Higinbotham. Beloved wife of 64 years, and forever, of Fraser. Loving mother of David (Donna), Susan Haddy (Scott), Leslie, Martha Bannock (John) and Mark (Dawn). Adored Gran of 14 grandchildren: Caitlin, Fraser, Bryn (Navneet), Paul (Katie); Jennifer (Shobhan), Andrew (Alison), Graham; Christopher, Michael; Madison, Leighton; Adam, James and Morgan. Great-Gran to Aryan and Claire. Cherished sister-in-law to Albert (Christa), Anthony (Shari) and Margaret. Step-daughter of Mary-Lou Ream (deceased). Dear half-sister to Robert (Faye, deceased), Molly (deceased), Margaret, Kathy and Jim (Connie). Margot was born in Toronto, Ontario, May 31, 1930. Having lost her mother at the age of seven, she was raised by her aunts Alice Wallace and Phyllis Higinbotham at Riverview in Guelph, Ontario. She treasured her childhood summers at the family farm in Milton and later in Washington, DC with her father and Mary-Lou. She attended Ovenden College and then McMaster University, where she met Fraser while in her freshman year. They were married in 1953, after a five-year engagement while Fraser attended Osgoode Hall Law School. Five children and a menagerie of pets were raised at the family home in Don Mills. Many happy memories were created there and at the family cottage, Clovelly, Windermere on Lake Rosseau. Her life was filled with wonderful friendships. Margot had a strong faith and a great love for the Church. Margot and Fraser were devoted to each other and shared many interests and adventures, including travelling to over 50 countries and seven continents. Theirs is a true love story. Margot loved her family and was a pillar of strength to Fraser and an inspirational matriarch to her entire family. Margot was the epitome of grace, courage and humility. She will be greatly missed and remembered with much love. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Yorkminister Park Baptist Church, 1585 Yonge Street (2 blocks north of St. Clair Avenue), Toronto.
