Maria(Ippolito) CAMPANELLA

CAMPANELLA, Maria (Ippolito) March 28, 1934 – May 21, 2017 Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, Maria entered into the arms of our Lord at the age of 83. Born in Racalmuto, Sicily, Maria was the daughter of the late Luigi and Giuseppina Ippolito. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore Campanella, loving mother to the late Carmelo Campanella and adored great-grandmother to the late Savanna Kovacs. Predeceased by her sister Angela (Joseph) Billone and her sister Calogera (Lilla) Ippolito, her sister-in-law Carmela (Calogero) Mule. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Grace Volpe (Nicola), Josie Cosentino (Al), Mary Ciuro (Phil). Maria also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Francesca Kovacs (Chris), Stephanie Volpe, Michael and Marina Cosentino, Celenna and Joshua Ciuro, and her precious great-grandson Marcus Kovacs. Survived by her loving sisters Giuseppina (Niccolo) Giancani, Concetta Ippolito, Sr. Enrica (Luigina) of Modica, Sicily, Grazia (Franco) Cannizzaro, Salvina (Ed) Timmins. Maria will be missed by her long time best friend Gaetana Gallo and her commara Giuseppina Ciuro. Maria will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the New Village Retirement Home and Amica of Stoney Creek, for the wonderful care they provided. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sharon Russell and the wonderful caring staff and volunteers at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. You all made our mother’s last journey a peaceful one, we thank you for treating her like she was one of your own. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – “William J. Markey Chapel” , 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 165 Prospect Street North, Hamilton on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington.
