Maria RAPETTA
RAPETTA, Maria It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the Matriarch of the Rapetta family, Maria Rapetta on May 23, 2017 in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband, Emidio, who she has been longing to be reunited with since his death four years ago. Our father was the love of her life. She always said that she would give her life once for her children but twice for her husband. Left behind to celebrate her life are her daughters Rosella Quaglia and Joanne Carboni and their husbands Dominic and Giovanni. She was the cherished grandmother of Daniel, Julian, Massimiliano and Maila. Despite her age she was actively involved in their lives during their transition from childhood to adult years until recently when she incurred several other medical issues that prolonged the agony of what we call “quality of life”. Her grandchildren were her “tesori”. Our mother was an extraordinary woman. She embraced her entire life with gratitude and fulfillment in her roles as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a valiant woman and never denounced any of her many challenges in her lifetime. She was deeply committed to her faith which accompanied her through her life and gave her incredible strength in the most trying moments. Her most laborious years were her final ones after the death of our father. She was inconsolable with his loss and despite her daughters’ constant commitment to her daily care.
