ALVARO, Maria
Passed away on Friday June 23, 2017 at the age of 90. Loving daughter of the late Antonio and Antonia. Loving wife of the late Raffaele. Dear mother of Annette (Dominic Calderone) and Giuseppina (Sebastiano Gattellaro). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Eufemia (John), Maria (Joe), Lisa (Carlo) and Tony (Jen), and her great-grandchildren Jonathan (Kristen), Marco, Stefano, Daniela, Melissa, Adam, Emily, Sabrina, Matteo, Luca and Stella. Dear sister of Carmela (Dominic Gattellaro) and predeceased by her brothers Giuseppe Silvestri (Teresa), Franco Silvestri (Maria), Sebastiano Silvestri (Maria), and Josephina Giorgi (brother-in-law Mike Giorgi). The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Altamont Nursing Home and Scarborough Centenary Hospital for their loving care.
Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CATHOLIC CHURCH (570 Marion Ave., Oshawa) on Wednesday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted for Heart & Stroke Foundation.
