Spyros MARKOU
MARKOU, Spyros Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer, Spyros passed away at the West Haldimand General Hospital in Hagersville, at the age of 88 on August 29, 2016. Spyros is survived by his loving spouse Jean of 59 years of marriage. Adoring father of Christine and her husband Mark Greening. Caring grandfather to Christa (David) and Mitchell. Predeceased by his parents George and Amalia. Brother and brother-in-law to Maria (the late Kostas) Deliakis, and Katie (the late Yakovo) Hovanian. Spyros will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Dr. John Deliakis (Barbara), Dr. Amelia (Kostas) Deliakis, the late Zarina Hovanian, Milly Hovanian and his many friends. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the West Haldimand General Hospital in Hagersville for their wonderful care and compassion, the Norfolk V.O.N. and the CCAC for their excellent care and service. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 22 Head Street, Hamilton, ON L8R 1P9 on Friday, September 2, 2016. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington. He will live in our hearts forever as he leaves his legacy of love. “To know him was to love him”
