MARY SWITZER (nee MORETTI) September 7, 1924 Passed away peacefully at Fountain View Care Nursing Home on Friday, July 29, 2016 in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her childhood sweetheart and loving husband of 56 years “Bud” Alvin Edgar Switzer (July 9, 2003). Cherished and Devoted mother to Sharon, Dawna Marie (husband Wayne) and Gary (wife Colleen). Adoring Nanny and Granny of nine grandchildren. Precious Nanny Pants of thirteen great- grandchildren. Predeceased by her loving sisters Ida Moretti, Teresa Chuchuk and Annie Sansone. Survived by her brother John Moretti. Our Mom, our sweetheart, taught us to always be close to family, to believe we can accomplish anything and to be proud of our roots. A role model for the entire family, teaching us that everyone should be greeted with a hug and a kiss, a meal (even if they don’t want one) and never forget the power of family stories. Mom’s trademark pearl necklaces, earrings and red lipstick will be remembered by many. Always showing a touch of class in her everyday life. We can still hear the echo of the bells in her kitchen as she rang them for all our birthdays and special occasions. And her little love notes will keep us busy for years! Thank you to all the nurses and care team at Fountain View Care Community for providing Mom with excellent care, kindness and companionship. An intimate memorial gathering with immediate family will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL CENTRE, on Sunday, August 14, 2016.
