Michelle Burt passed away on March 4th at Sunnybrook Hospital after a brief illness. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Lauri Teikari and her two sons, Stephen Burt and Geoffrey Burt. Michelle’s career was dedicated to the service of others. She worked as a social worker and later taught quilt making to cancer patients at Sunnybrook Hospital’s Wellspring Centre. Michelle lived an active and healthy life. Her hobbies included reading, travel, hiking, cycling, skiing and running. She was a remarkably compassionate person who was always willing to help others in need. Her friends and family will deeply miss her wise counsel and her sense of humour. The service and reception will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road (east gate entrance), on Saturday, March 11th starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
