Mona RHÉAUME

After a short but valiant battle, with loving family by her side, we announce with great sadness the passing of our beloved, Mona Rhéaume, on June 5, 2017 at Toronto Grace Health Centre. Mona was born September, 21, 1953, in Sudbury, ON, to the late Gérard and Therese Rhéaume (Bourque). She leaves behind Lazar Rajic, the great love of her life; her loving siblings Daniel, Maria Roelofs (Leo), Diane (Hamdi), André, Jeannette and Louise MacKay (Stuart). She will be greatly missed by several nephews, Shawn (Geneviève), Greg (Nathalie), Justin (Leslie), Mathieu, Adam (Chanel) and Kyle; including grand-niece and nephews.

Mona’s loving spirit and kind-heartedness transcended over all else. Her unwavering love for her family was equally profound. Mona’s lifelong legacy is her steadfast show of unconditional love, as she always sought the good in people. The family wishes to thank all Doctors, Nurses and Social Workers at the Toronto Western Hospital and at the Toronto Grace Health Centre for their outstanding care, love and devotion; and for allowing the family’s round-the-clock stay by Mona’s bedside. Your compassion far exceeded expectations, and for that we are truly grateful. Thank you, also, Pastor Sharon (Toronto Grace) for your dedication and spiritual guidance.

Mona’s bright light, compassionate nature and beautiful smile will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be Friday, June 16, 2017, between 5-8 p.m. at Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst St, Toronto. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 72 Mansfield Ave., Toronto.

Contributions in Mona’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre, 650 Church St., Toronto, ON M4Y 2G5.
