MORLEY GIBSON Aged 78, residing at Delmanor, Prince Edward. Died August 11, 2016, peacefully. Morley was born and grew up on the Manitoulin Island. As well as teaching qualifications, he held a BA in English and specialty in Library Sciences and Guidance. He lived and taught in Metz, France for 2 years early in his career. During that time he developed a love of travel and used his time in Europe to explore extensively. After teaching in Elliot Lake and Sault Ste. Marie, Morley moved to Scarborough where he became a longtime resident and taught at Walter Perry Public School and John McCrae Senior Public School. For many years, Morley spent summers at his cottage on Lake Huron. The cottage was a gathering place for friends and family. Continuing to travel, he also supported theater, the arts and had an impressive green thumb. His garden was an oasis in the summer for friends and family. He is survived by his sisters Reta Best and Sharon Johnson, brothers Gerald Gibson and Barry Gibson and brother-in- law Wayne Coughlin. Predeceased by his sister Joan. A memorial service will be held August 27th, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Master United, 3385 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough.
