MOTA, Evangelina It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dearest Matriarch. Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Juravinski Hospital on the 6th of January 2017 in her 97th year, Evangelina entered into the arms of the Lord. She is predeceased by her husband Antonio. Forever remembered by her loving children; John and Filomena Mota, Natalia and the late Tony Mota, Octavio and Diane Mota, Albert Mota and her beloved daughter, Giselda Viveiros. She will be greatly missed by her adoring grandchildren; John Mota Jr., Jaime and Stacy Mota, Andrea and Frank Ferraro, Julie and Michael Capretta, Charles Mota, Sara and Rachael Viveiros. Her great-grandchildren; Alice, Diamantina, Olivia, Audrey and Luca were blessed to have known her and will remember her fondly. She will be missed by her brothers Norberto and Fernando and is predeceased by her siblings; Cecilia, Antonio, Rosa, and Emilio. Evangelina was loved by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends in Canada, the United States and the Azores. Evangelina received compassionate care from many in recent years. Her family would like to thank all of the friends who kept her company and a special thank you to Jocelyne for her consideration and kindness. Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., (near James St.) on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with Vigil prayers at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery (681 Mud St. E., Stoney Creek).
