SWANSON, Muriel Velma (neé Johnson) Muriel Swanson passed away in her Burlington home on the afternoon of September 21, 2017 surrounded by family at the age of 92. She joins her husband Roy Sr., son Roy Jr., siblings Betty Hambrook, George, Bill, and Norman in heaven. A proud mother of Dr. Mark Swanson (Sue) and Diane Hinds (Emanuel). A loving grandmother to Aelwynn, Charlotte, Gwyneth, Heather, Hugh, Kaila, Karam, and Sarah. Her eight great- grandchildren were a blessing to her. Remembered with love by her honorary family members Kyla and Linda Wood and Elizabeth Miners (Ken). Muriel is survived by her siblings Ethel Straw (Bill) and John Rayner (Cora), her cousin Ethel MacKay (Frank), daughter-in-law June Swanson, brother-in-law Bob Hambrook. Muriel is missed by her friends and family as she knits, sews, and watches over us from heaven. Visitation at DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME-BURLINGTON CHAPEL (2241 New Street at Drury Lane 905-637-5233) on Thursday, September 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, September 29 from 12 noon to time of service at 1 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Donations to Charity Water in Muriel’s honor would be appreciated by the family.
