OCCHIUTO, Giovanni It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Giovanni on August 22, 2016, in his 90th year, at Emmanuel House. Predeceased by his beloved wife Maria (Filice). Cherished father of Giuliana (Antonio) Gualtieri, Silvana (Sam) Sciarrone, Mirella (Cosimo) Curciarello, and Joanne Martorelli (Stan Kudlats). Wonderful and caring Nonno to Teresa (Tony) Bozzelli, Rosie Curciarello, Gianna (Michael) Piazza, Joe (Melissa) Curciarello, Domenic Sciarrone (Mariam Shino), Luca and Alexa Martorelli. Bisnonno of Filippo, Julia, Sienna, Simona, Christian, and Nicholas. Loving brother of Lidia (Rocco) Reda. Giovanni will be sadly missed by many extended family members and friends in Canada and Italy. A very heartfelt thank you to the staff, nurses and caregivers at Emmanuel House for all the support that was given to our father in his last days. Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. (near James St.) on Thursday, August 25th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with Vigil prayers at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church (830 Barton St. E.) on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington. In lieu of flowers donations to Emmanuel House would be greatly appreciated by the family. We love you and you will be forever in our hearts.
