PORTOLESI, Teresa November 7, 1930 – June 19,2016 Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Teresa passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Hamilton General Hospital, in her 86th year. Born in Senoli, Reggio Calabria, Italy. Loving wife of Domenico Portolesi, the light of her eyes for 66 and a half years. Beloved mother of Mary and Domenico Trimboli and Paula and Romolo Furii. Cherished nonna of Giuseppina and Gino Caruso, the late Antonio Trimboli, Michael Furii and Yvonne Hunter, Andrew and Giulia Furii, Teresa Trimboli and Giancarlo Ferko and Domenic Trimboli and Darcy Pasek. Dear nonni of Olivia, Marisa and Luca Caruso and Samantha and Adriano Furii. Predeceased by her parents Domenico Antonio Trimboli and Paola Ripolo and parents-in-law, Francesco Portolesi and Maria Strangio. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Francesco and Giuseppe Trimboli, both missing in action in WWII, the late Antonio and Concetta Trimboli, the late Domenico Trimboli, Maria and the late Rocco Portolesi, Sarafina and the late Bruno Fabiano, Salvatore Trimboli, the late Rosario and Giuseppina Portolesi, the late Andrea and Maria Portolesi, the late Saverio and Giuseppina Portolesi, the late Rosa and Domenico Sergi, Maria and the late Giuseppe DiMarco and Rachela and Antonio Sergi. Teresa will be sadly missed by her nephew and niece Francesco and Elvira Portolesi who were more like a son and daughter as well as many nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends in Canada, Australia, Italy, Germany and Argentina. A special thank you to the compassionate and caring staff of 8 South at the Hamilton General Hospital, the Heart Function Clinic, Dr. Lino and Dr. Leda Lagrotteria and to her PSW, Jackie. To the best wife, mother, nonna, nonni, best friend and confidant whose generosity of spirit, loving and compassionate nature touched everyone. She faced many challenges and hardships, yet she always maintained a positive attitude and a ready smile. She had a gift of making you feel like the most important person on earth, her heart and her door were always open. You will be forever missed and in our thoughts and hearts. “Tesoro” Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. (near James St.) on Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with Vigil prayers at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at All Souls Church, 19 Barton St. W., on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
