HELLER, Raymond Andrew With family at his side, he accepted his passage into the hands of God on August 27th in his 81st year at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. He will be deeply missed by his wife Catherine. Loving father to Glen, David (Kerry), Laura (Sean), and Paul (JuHee). Proud grandpa to Mackenzie, Austin, Julian, Bridget, Declan, Annaleen, Justin, and Isabel. Survived by his sisters Freida, Mary, and Patricia. Predeceased by his brother Joseph. Ray inspired many students over his 30 years at Laurier, and held a PhD in chemistry from Berkeley. He loved travel, reading, and attempting to organize his children’s lives. He could take any event and turn it into a story worth re-telling. His stories didn’t just make people laugh, they would keep you laughing long after other memories faded. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME “Swackhamer Chapel”, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Friday, September 1st from 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas on Saturday, September 2nd at 10 a.m. Donations in Ray’s memory to the Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.
