RICHARDDONALD “DON” NEVISON

RICHARD DONALD “DON” NEVISON Nevison passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre in Toronto. Don led a full and adventurous life to the remarkable age of 94. He was the first child of Richard and Lena Nevison, followed by his sister Barbara. Don grew up in Coboconk, Ontario and attended a one-room school. After graduating from high school, Don joined Ontario Hydro briefly before enlisting in the Canadian Army. During his military service, Don enrolled in University of Toronto and graduated as an Electrical Engineer in 1948. In 1953 Don met the love of his life Norah Holt Conyers. They married in 1954 and had a wonderful family of four children. He then began a long and engaging career at Ontario Hydro, which included some exciting postings around the world. The two most notable assignments were in Nigeria where the family resided for a total of 7 years during the late 1960s – mid 1970s. These adventurous years shaped lifelong memories and friendships for Don and Norah and their four children. Friends and family could always count on Don to enjoy a glass of wine and discuss the events of the time. Steady as a rock, Don would encourage a lively debate of various opinions. Don was predeceased by his wife Norah and leaves many loving memories with his four children Bob, Greg, Joanne and Andy and their families. A celebration of life is being held at the Donalda Golf Club, Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined
