Jean Riches
RICHES, Jean Passed away peacefully at Shalom Village, Hamilton, on June 22, 2016, in her 93rd year. Dear soulmate of the late Alex Fraser (2006) and dear twin sister of the late Doris MacDonald (July 2013) and sister of the late Hugh Riches (1989). Jean will be sadly missed by her niece Laurie Cunningham-LeBlanc (Paul LeBlanc) of Brampton and niece Carol MacDonald and nephew Paul MacDonald (Claire) of BC. Nieces and nephews from Arizona. Great-Nephew, Sean Cunningham (Marlene Benedicto). Great-Nieces, Tiffany Morris (Brent), Kelly Doerr (Mark) and Kim Cunningham of Brampton. Great-Grandniece and nephew, Hayden and Wyatt Doerr. Also remembered by Sandy Jukes (Fred). Jean will be sadly missed by many friends, acquaintances and staff from Shalom Village Apartments and Long Term Care, where she called home for the last 5 years, 3 in long term care. Jean was a member of McNab Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir and was a part of the “Friendly Circle” for many years. Jean led a full life as an avid golfer and 50 plus member of the Dundas Valley Golf Course and a member of the Hamilton Theatre Club. Her working life, she enjoyed many friendships made at Scotia Bank and the TH&B Railway. Jean also volunteered for 25 years with the Meals on Wheels. In memory of Jean, donations to Shalom Village, McNab Presbyterian or the charity of your choice are welcome. A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date.
