PIRIE, ROBERT JOHN It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, Robert John Pirie on July 9, 2021, in the city of Hamilton, at the age of 89.
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Robert grew up in New Liskeard, Ontario. He was an only child who attended the University of Toronto after graduating from high school. He went on to study law and spent his career practicing law in Toronto, Ontario where he worked until retirement. Robert was a devoted father, an avid gardener and a champion of education who enjoyed travelling throughout North America. He loved spending time with his family and many friends in both Canada the USA.
One of his greatest accomplishments was serving as fraternity President of Phi Delta Phi where he was able to cultivate life long friendships. Robert was a great orator with a brilliant wit who spent countless hours regaling family and friends with wonderful stories. Robert was predeceased by his parents Sarah and John and the mother of his children Margaret Read. Robert is survived by his three children, Sandra, John and James.
We thank the many gracious and generous doctors, nurses and staff at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton for their care of our dad. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
