Rosanne BATEMAN

1943 – 2017

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Rosanne Bateman at Princess Margaret Hospital on February 5, 2017. She leaves behind to mourn her passing, her loving husband Ted, close cousins, other extended family members, special God children and countless friendships developed and nurtured over the years.

Predeceased by her parents, Louis and Rose Firkaly, Rosanne was born in Montreal and enjoyed a long career with Air Canada in Montreal and Toronto where she made lifelong friends. Rosanne and Ted were married in 1973 and their journey through life together has been truly remarkable. A shared love of travel, antiques, design and fashion, hosting splendid dinners for family and friends and spending happy times in Southampton and Ogunquit, Maine where they added to their every expanding group of close friends. Rosanne’s boundless energy and positive spirit even in the face of medical issues over the past eight years, stand as a testament to her love of life. Her friendly smile and welcoming manner will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service to celebrate and honour her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 4, 2017 at St. John’s United Church, Oakville. Donations in Rosanne’s Memory can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
