RUCKER, Elli (nee Juraschka) Passed away, peacefully in her sleep, at the Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on June 21, 2016 at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her loving husband Job in 1999. Cherished mother to Carmen (Don) Uffen, Peter, Yvonne (Darren) Hupp, Patricia (Jon) Miller and Tamara (Anthony) Mullen. Adoring Oma to Kendall, Logan, Hannah, Cole and Olivia. Loving sister to Waltraut, Ernst and Gerda. Predeceased by her siblings Kathe, Reinhold, Lydia, Herta, Horst, Paul, Hildegard and Herbert. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here in Canada, Germany and the United States. Elli will be fondly remembered for her devotion to her family. Elli was a caring and loving mother, always putting her family before herself. With every grandchild, her heart grew bigger as each of them brought her so much love and joy. They gave her strength for the most difficult battle of her life. Elli’s other passion was her flowers. Affectionately known as the “Flower Lady”, through her creative talents of arranging flowers, she added a special touch to her family’s and clients’ most memorable life events. Actively involved in many of the local Farmer’s Markets, including Kitchener, Mississauga Square One and Nathan Phillips Square Toronto, Elli enjoyed helping her customers find that perfect planter, basket or bouquet. She thoughtfully and graciously touched the lives of many. Her commitment to work hard and to face every challenge with positive determination will continue to guide those she loved so much. A very special thank you to Elli’s medical team…Dr. Gee and the nurses and staff at the cancer clinic, the doctors and nurses at Joseph Brant Hospital in the emergency department and 4 south and east, Dr. Darcel, Dr. Bzonek, nurse Angela and the staff at the Carlisle Medical Centre. Elli was very fortunate to have so many wonderful and dedicated people supporting her. A special thank you also to the caring and compassionate staff at the Delmanor Glen Abbey and Chartwell Martha’s Landing. In keeping with Elli’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON (905.527.0405) on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
