Ruth Elfhild BLIGHT (nee Nordstrom)
BLIGHT, Ruth Elfhild (nee Nordstrom) September 3, 1914 – February 25, 2017 With profound sadness, the family wish to announce the passing of Ruth Elfhild Blight on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in her 103rd year. Born in Hatfield, Saskatchewan on September 3, 1914. She was very proud to serve Canada as a nurse in WWII where she met her beloved husband Gordon Patterson Blight (Predeceased 1997). Loving mother of Marilyn Blight, Gerrie and her husband Peter Laycock, and Patti and her husband John Altridge. She was a strong woman and lived in excellent health right up until her last year. Her nursing experience always stayed with her as she helped the elderly around her with compassion and care. Cremation has taken place and a Private Urn Burial will be held at Wesley United Church Cemetery, Jarvis. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jenny Lawson who helped care for Ruth this past year.
