TERENCE(TERRY) KELLY

TERENCE (TERRY) KELLY Terry died April 24, 2017 at Michael Garron Hospital, at 68 years young – gently, with family. He was one-of-a-kind. He is the beloved brother of the late Bernard (Marianne), Maureen, Rita, Tom (Donna) and Denis (Heather). He was the loving, dedicated and generous uncle of Sean (Lesley), Adrienne, Brianne, Andrew (Becca), Meghan, Gavin (Katherine), Alex (Karlee), Harrison (Holly), Rachel (Alex), Nicole, Erin and Andrew Kelly and Erik (April), Paul (Beverley), Signy, Rolf, Dagny and Gage and Ragnar Hartmann and the late Misty Trahan. Terry will be missed by his many great-nieces and great- nephews. He was always “there” for family and friends. His spirit and enthusiasm were contagious. He lived with and in their later years cared for his parents, the late Austin and Mary Kelly at the family home, “Bracken” and a number of nephews shared time with him at “the Monastery”. Terry was a dog-person and had a special bond with his four- legged nieces and nephews, especially missed by Finnegan. Ever curious, with a penchant for sharing jokes, he had a gift for engaging with the people he met. He was an accomplished, dedicated and conscientious teacher (St. Michael’s Choir School) and lawyer, traveller, workaholic (supported by his longtime assistant, Teresa Kwan), white water rafter and nature enthusiast with a bit of Don Quixote in his nature. His family is very grateful for the excellent care he received from Dr. Sam Tircos, Dr. Patricia Disperati and the Oncology, ICU led by Dr. Michael Warner and H7 staff at Michael Garron Hospital, Dr. Wasi, Tammy, Keri, Nicola and the nurses and staff of the Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant program at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton and Dr. Karen Yee at Princess Margaret Hospital. We are also so grateful for the prayers and support of family (especially his sister, Maureen, a nurse who was with him throughout his 5 year journey), friends and his CaringBridge support team. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stem Cell Transplant Program at Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton, would be appreciated. Visitation will be held at McDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, Toronto, Ontario, on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 6:30 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, 794 Kingston Road, Toronto, Ontario.
