HUCAL, THEDA (nee MacKELLAR) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Theda after a brief illness, at Sunnybrook Hospital on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband Edward Hucal (2006). She was the cherished mother of Cathie Fenn (John) and Craig Hucal (Anne). Beloved Nana to Michael Fenn (Ciara) and Catie Fenn, Andrew and Cristina Hucal and Jason Laing. Predeceased by her sister Kitty Pratt (Leroy), brother Ian MacKellar (Eileen) and in-laws Olga and Nick Rudan, Nettie Hucal, Paul and Clare Hucal, Alice and Lyman and Walter Nador; she was the last of her generation on both sides of the family. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews Ron Rudan (Diane), Angela Straker (Hap), Paul Hucal (Melody), Michael Pratt (Ruth), Debi Pratt, Sandi MacKellar (Roger), Jim MacKellar (Monique), Lori Degagne (Mike) and Scott MacKellar (Laura). A sincere and heartfelt thank you to Veronica Smith, our mother’s private care worker, for her compassionate care for 11 years. A special thank you to the staff at Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor for their dedicated care. Thanks also for the leading care of Dr. Sandra Black of Sunnybrook Hospital. Cremation has taken place and at a later date, interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life.
