POPPLETON, Thomas Garfield July 4, 1928 to July 11, 2017 Tom passed peacefully into the care of the Lord with his family by his side. Tom is survived by his beloved wife Pat of 65 years. Dad will be forever missed by his 5 children Heather (Wayne), Ann (Brian), David (Patrice), Garth (Tanya) and Gillian (David). His 12 grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Kathleen, Thomas, Harrison, Matthew, Adrian, Nathaniel, Willow, Jessica, Maxwell and Danielle will carry Grandpa in their hearts for all time. A world traveller, former employee of University of Toronto, King Scout, father and grandfather, Tom gave of himself in every part of his 89 years. God bless you, Tom. Visitation will be held at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd., on Friday, July 14th, from 5 to 8 p.m. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 776 Brimley Rd., on Saturday, July 15th at 11 a.m. Honouring Tom and the family’s wishes, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) would be appreciated.
