KOENIGSBAUER, Ursula Elfriede With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished mother and Omi, Ursula, on Thursday, March 9, 2017, in her 83rd year, after a brief and courageous fight with cancer. Reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Emil (1986) and her loving son Robert (2003). Mom passed away peacefully at home on her farm in her daughter’s arms, surrounded by her family. Ursula was dearly loved and adored by her daughter Susi and son-in-law Roy. She will be cherished by her grandchildren Cassandra and Spencer, who were the light of her life. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of Jurgen and Rita Dannemann, Inge and Klaus Wehr; dear aunt to Ulf and Yenz, Alexander and Evelyn and their families in Germany. “Ushi” will be sadly missed by her dear friends, Hedda and Diane here in Canada, and Elsbeth and Hannelore in Germany, and many close friends and neighbours, who will greatly miss her sweet smile and personality. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Juravinski Hospital, St. Peter’s Hospital, CCAC and West Lincoln Palliative support staff, for their kindness, care and support. They worked so hard to make Ursula and Susi’s wishes for her to come home a reality. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME , 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, March 14 from 6-9 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen’s Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby. If wished, as an expression of sympathy, donations to a children’s charity of your choice in Ursula’s name, would be gratefully appreciated by her family.
